課程概述 |
1.This course aims to develop the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. By the end of the course, students are expected to have mastered basic Chinese grammar, and be able to participate in daily conversation.
2. The class will be mainly given in Chinese.

課程要求 |
1. 每次上課都要簽到
You must sign into every lesson to verify your attendance.
2. 請勿遲到、早退。
Do not be late to class. Do not leave class early.
3. 上課時請不要吃東西
No eating in class.
4. 課中請勿使用手機和電子產品。(查字典除外)。
No use of cell phones or other electronics. Dictionaries are permitted.
5. 積極參與討論。
Active class participation is mandatory.
6. 請準時交作業。
No late homework will be accepted.
7. 如果無故曠課，不能補考。
No make-up exams will be provided.
8. 上課時學生不說英文或其他非中文語言。
Only Chinese may be used in class. Use of other languages is forbidden, as it will handicap your progress significantly.
※違反以上規定皆會影響學期成績。違反一次規定就扣平時表現成績一分。
You will lose one point of your Attendance and Performance scores for each violation of class regulations.

出席及平時表現 Attendance and Performance |
20% |
(1) 每次上課皆須簽點名單，點名單收回後到者為遲到，計點一次，累計三點則算缺席一次，遲到三十分鐘以上算缺席。
You must sign in to every lesson. You will be considered tardy if you arrive after every other student has signed in. Being tardy three times will be considered the equivalent of one absence. Being more than 30 minutes late will also be considered an absence.
提早離開需事先告知老師，若未告知老師即算缺席一次。缺席一次扣出席及平時表現成績1分。
Notify the instructor in advance if you need to leave class early. If you do not do so, your departure would be considered an absence and 1 point will be deducted from your performance score.
(2) 若有事無法上課，請在上課前寫信至老師信箱請假。
Notify the instructor in advance (by email) if you are unable to attend class.
※期末考前統計缺席次數合計超過六次者，期末考成績以八折計算。（例如：期末考成績為90分，實際成績為72分）
Your final exam score will be reduced by 20% if you are absent more than 6 times.

作業 Homework |

(1) 學生作業簿：請影印(yǐng yìn, copy)後直接書寫在上面，不收整本作業簿。
Homework will be assigned from your student workbook. Copy the completed pages for submission; do not turn in your original workbook.
(2) 漢字書寫作業
Character writing practice.
(3) 錄音作業：請準時上傳至ceiba。
Recording the texts. (upload on CEIBA)
(4) 口頭報告：一學期有一到兩次。
Oral presentations and reports during the semester.
(5) 其他類型的作業。
Other assignments as appropriate.
作業需於老師指定日內繳交或上傳，遲交不收也不計分。
All assignments must be handed in on time. Late submissions will not be accepted and will be given a score of zero.

平時考試 Quizzes and Tests |
20% |
(1) 每次上課（期中考及期末考除外）都有聽寫考試。一上課就考試，遲到、請假或缺席都不能補考。
A dictation quiz will be given at the start of every class (except when taking the mid-term and final exams). No make-up quiz will be provided.
(2) 每課教完有單元考試。考試形式為筆試(含聽力測驗)。若當天無法參加考試，以零分計，且不得參加補考。
A writing and listening quiz will be given at the end of every lesson. No make-up exams will be provided.

期中考試 Mid-term exam |

期中考試包含筆試及聽力測驗。若當天無法參加，不可補考。
The mid-term exam includes written, listening comprehension and oral components. No make-up exam will be provided.

期末考試 Final exam |

期末考試包含筆試、聽力測驗及口試，分兩天進行，特殊情況之學生可在同一天考完或擇日考試。
